• AGE REQUIREMENT This game is intended for players 13 and older, or essentially, if you're old enough to use LiveJournal, you can join this game. If you aren't, you'll have to be banned. It's not really about how well you conduct yourself or how good your writing is; the law is the law.

• CONSISTENCY You applied to this game with an application good enough to be accepted. So keep it up. You should already know what is and is not allowed here - good grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. are all necessary to keeping yourself in the game. Additionally, you need to stick with your character's concept that you established in your application - don't let them stray away from what they are, especially not just to see your two favorites knocking boots together. No.

Additionally, along with writing your character consistently well, keep them consistently active! You know how much it sucks to be held up by another character, right? While it really is only required of you to post twice a month (once every two weeks, about), there will be activity checks every now and then. These will generally require you to have posted something within the past week to be considered active. So keep that in mind, look out for those. And hey, if you successfully complete an activity check with no reminders, you're able to apply for another 3 characters! (If you're on a HIATUS, you're exempt from these, by the way. In that case, you won't have an opportunity to knock up your character count until you're present for and complete an activity check.)

• NO SNOWFLAKES IN THE TROPICS Yes, yes, everyone is special and unique. But they aren't the epitome of perfection - everyone has flaws, and please acknowledge them in your character. Certainly, when they've been virtually stripped of their magic and all, they aren't going to be going over 9,000 anytime soon during their stay in Rivelata. And not only that, but try not to remove all emotional conflict from your characters and your interactions with others. It's really no fun if everyone is totally fine and cheerful all of the time. Secondly, don't control other people's characters. Don't tell them what they are doing. You applied for your character, they applied for theirs. Remember that.

• MATURE CONTENT No posts are going to get XXX-rated here, sorry! Straight, gay, whatever, it's all good, but there's just no sex in the champagne room. Yep. Don't post sex logs here. ADDENDUM: We now have a community specifically for adult content, [info]pornelata. Basically, it was made so the people who would like to play that sort of thing can do as they please and whoever doesn't want to be bothered with it doesn't have to see it. This community is totally optional to join, and you must be legally allowed to view adult concepts in order to view the within (all posts are locked and it has an appropriate rating set). Please keep in mind this game is not and never will be an unabashed sex-fest and just because we have this community does not mean it's totally okay for every single character to go slut about if it's not what they are like in canon. Please don't use this community as a way to play out your ~*zomg OTPs*~ and such.

Violence, swearing, and everything else offensive under the sun is a-okay, though - just mark it accordingly, all right? Warn people about the content of your posts if it's going to bother some people. Otherwise, moderators reserve the right to delete it. Sorry.

• SAVE THE DRAMA FOR YOUR MOMMA Indeed. Don't get bent out of shape because of a game - it's meant to be fun and relaxing. Think about the consequences before you post something. Don't be an ass to players, and realize that if someone's character is an ass it's got nothing to do with you personally. On that note, don't vent your frustration for a player via your character either.

Above all else, conduct yourself with maturity and a level head - if you have a problem, don't be venomous about it, don't swear, don't lie and manipulate. Especially not when you're speaking with the moderators. Whether you're right or wrong, we're going to have a zero-tolerance policy for bullshit, quite bluntly, so don't get out of line, don't stress out our players or mods. Repeat after me: this is just a game. This is just for fun. There is no need to act like the world is ending. Now breathe. Good!

If you have issues with the plot, the mods, the players, anything at all in relation to this game, please feel free to hit up the CONCERNS/COMPLAINTS BOX so things can be dealt with accordingly. Additionally, you can always discuss matters with the moderators via their email: rivelata[AT]gmail[DOT]com.

• TAGGING In this game, we have a lot of tagging going on. According to the Rivelatalogs profile page and the moderators' Tag-related entries in the OOC community, each log entry should include 1) the names of all characters appearing within that thread and 2) a place tag if the "Where" is a public venue and not a private residence. Posts to the Rivelata community as a journal entry need only have the tag of the original writer (and thus only ever have one tag per entry). All addendums to these rules will also appear in the OOC community at the given link, with a "tags" tag.
